WTF Is Going On At The United States Postal Service??????

The new post office motto

The new post office motto

First of all, to show jusssst how smart the USPS is, or I should say brain-dead, let me tell you a short story before I get to the point of this blog. Which is, “Does Anybody Have A Brain At The USPS?” (subtitled) “WTF IS Going On At The USPS?”

Bear with me here.

By all means folks....bear with him....

By all means folks….bear with him….

Years ago after retiring from the broadcasting industry I decided to dabble in part-time employment rather than commit myself to actually holding down a long-term job. I call it, “freelancing.”

Sounds a lot better than, “Hey, I’m outta work and have no clue what I wanna do!”

Soooo, I worked for the USPS in various post offices working as what they refer to as a “temp” or “sub,” meaning you were just a slug they used for times when the regular carriers wanted a day off or called in sick.

Sooooooooooooo, I actually learned EVERYTHING there was to do at the post office. And I mean EVERYTHING!

I was also great at the front desk too

I was also great at the front desk too

I could do any job if called upon from delivering mail, sorting mail, working the front desk helping to wait on customers, and even driving a mail truck on Sunday’s delivering Express Mail.

Did I mention I was trained to do EVERYTHING!!!! Ok….just wanted to implant that in your brains.

So, years later after fully retiring from doing various temp jobs at various places, BUT, still doing part-time work for the USPS, I moved to Connecticut, and decided, “Hey, think I’ll do some sub work for the USPS here too.”

One of the many reasons I wanted to work for the USPS again

One of the many reasons I wanted to work for the USPS again

Soooooooooooooooooooo. I drive 52 miles to New Haven, Ct, take the postal test, which consists of pages of gobbledygook, which has nothing to do with the job other than they can determine if you can write and answer stupid questions, and I (get this) fail the test.

YES….I FAILED THE TEST to see if I was qualified to work for the USPS AFTER working for the USPS for just about 8 years.

So….I guess I wasn’t qualified to work for the USPS.

But who is you ask?

I’ll tell ya……the same people who handled a package I sent out on October 9, 2015 from Preston, Connecticut to New Rockford, North, Dakota.

OR….North Dakota

Now take a look at where this package went by reading the “tracking information” which one can do by going to the USPS site and entering a tracking number on any package you mail out from a USPS office.

Start from the bottom of this report dated October 9th and work your way up:

YES! The package I mailed visited alllllllll those places. Both coasts of the United States and back! And EVEN got to spend 4 days in sunny Bell Gardens, California before moving on to Capitol Heights, Maryland, then to North Carolina, Minnesota and FINALLY to North Dakota.

This package visited more places in the United States than I have in my lifetime.

Guess that explains it

It was, as you can tell by the above tracking information, FINALLY delivered on October 23rd. So I asked Amy Wobbema from the “New Rockford Transcript” to which the package was addressed, to send me a photo of the package so that I could see all of the places it had visited.

Guess what! No markings on the package at all. Zilch, nada, nothing, zero. It was unscathed.

To which I have determined that because the USPS screwed up this delivery big time, they have initiated a giant cover up not seen since the days of “The Warren Report’s”  investigation into the assassination of John F. Kennedy.usps7

So, in conclusion, I have sent a letter to the Postmaster General asking that an investigation into this mistreatment of an innocent package be conducted and that all postal individuals taking part in this obvious cover up be brought to justice.

However, considering it was the Postal Service that screwed up the delivery of this package in the first place, AND, all evidence, other than my tracking receipt, has been cleansed from the package itself, I do not expect any action on my request for an investigation.

That and the possibility that my letter to the Postmaster General may never get there……………….considering how reliable the United States Postal Service is.

Oops……..good luck with that!

Just sayin.’

    What the hell? That’s hysterical.

It makes no sense bat all. Once it got to AZ and CA, why in the world was it then sent back to the east coast before finally making it to the midwest?

That package got some action, man!
