OMG!!! Barbie and Ken are in trouble. Their relationship may be on the rocks. Mattel, the parents of Barbie and Ken are in deep doo doo too. And neither one of the two showed any body parts on Twitter.
Speaking of showing body parts on Twitter. I was going to post my own body parts on that social media site, lest Antny Weiner get all the glory, but, after much consideration, and the inability to get my body to look “ripped” rather than “sagged” I opted not to post any such photos. (sigh)
The big news today. Environmental group Greenpeace, the people dedicated to enforce peace between green vegetables, and other green things, is all bent outta shape because they claim that Mattel is responsible for deforestation in Indonesia.
For you folks who do not know what deforestation is, it is when some company goes into a forest and de-forests it. Kinda like taking all the trees, loading them into the back of a semi, driving off and leaving just a pile of dirt. Hence, deforestation and not dedirtafaction….which would be the case if they took the dirt too.
Apparently Mattel uses timber products like palm oil to make packaging for its Barbie line. Why they just don’t take palm oil from people’s palms here in the U.S. and avoid all this ruckus is beyond me. Maybe Indonesians have more oil in their palms. Beats me.
On social media websites like Twitter and Facebook, some activists have used the names of Ken and Barbie to post their concern about this major news story.
Ken: “Did you know there are only about 400 Sumatran tigers left in the wild?”
Barbie: “Yes, I participated in deforestation, how else am I supposed to heat up the “Dream House?”
I have no idea what those two posts mean. But, considering both Barbie and Ken come in sealed boxes that may have been on a Wal-Mart shelf for a few months, it’s understandable how lack of oxygen could impair their ability to make any freakin’ sense.
I do understand Greenpeace’s concern with regard to deforestation, but for cripes sake don’t ya think they should be jumping on those coal mining companies that are stripping off mountain tops,and, in their off time, women.
You know how miners, after being underground for a long period of time, need to strip other things besides mines. But we won’t get into that….as much as I’d like to….stripping women that is.
Anyhow, Mattel has since disabled the comment section of their website, lest more comments from Ken and Barbie be made public and their postings of explicit photos of the two of them together in a box on a shelf in a Wal-Mart in compromising positions be discovered by blogger Andrew Briebart.
Mattel has also issued a statement saying that it would stop sourcing pulp from the Indonesian company accused of the deforestation.
There was no mention of palm oil which may mean that Mattel greased the palms of the palm oil people so that they wouldn’t say anything about palm oil being taken from their palms.
That said, I’m palming this story off to the rest of you to decide for yourself if Mattel is the bad guy in this story or if it’s Ken and Barbie, considering Mattel has supported the two for years, and they are just a couple of ungrateful brats and should be palmed off to another company………..
